Abattoir closure talks

Administrator Ashley Hall is seeking meetings with AMG executives to discuss the company’s long-term plans for its Deniliquin abattoir.

EDWARD River Council has committed to working with Australian Meat Group (AMG) following the company’s decision to temporarily cease its operations at Deniliquin.

Administrator Ashley Hall confirmed he is seeking meetings with AMG executives in Melbourne this week to discuss the company’s long-term plans for its Deniliquin abattoir.

Mr Hall said despite the decision made by AMG, the economic forecast for the Edward River remained strong.
