ORGANISERS of a Moama night market last month have hailed it a success.

Discovery Parks - Maidens Inn held the market on March 12 as a fundraiser for the Variety charity.

Despite inclement weather on the day, 3000 people turned out for the occasion, which raised $4500 for the children’s charity.

Organiser Danielle Richardson said that brought the total fundraising tally for Variety in March to $5500.

‘‘We’d like to thank all those who made donations, the stallholders and all the locals who came through,’’ she said.

The team is now turning its attention to another event on the back of the market’s success.

It is planning a food truck festival on May 26 to 28 within the holiday park, which is also going to raise money for Variety.

Ms Richardson said the times were still to be finalised, but at this stage the event would be restricted to park guests.

Five trucks have already been locked in and she said she was speaking to another six who were interested.

The foods on offer will range from Vietnamese street food and American barbecue to Mexican and Indian.

There will also be coffee available and the team is looking at arranging children’s activities.

For more information, phone the park on 5480 9253.
