CELTIC music is coming to Nathalia.

The Nathalia Community Choir will perform Fiddle and Song at the G.R.A.I.N Store on April 29.

Led by musical director Linden Lancaster the one off performance has been designed to explore a broad range of Celtic music from Scotland, Ireland and Wales.

Linden’s love and knowledge of the genre has developed over years of playing in the local bush band The Bushfires with her husband Cameron.

‘‘When I took over as choirmaster a couple of years ago, I was looking for something that would give the choir a focus, something we could all work together to achieve,’’ Linden said.

‘‘My vision is to create new arrangements and breathe life into some of these old favourites, but I have discovered some of the less well known ones hold a special meaning that I am really looking forward to sharing with our audience.

‘‘We have been very fortunate to have received assistance from the Moira Shire to help bring the group Rare Child up from Melbourne to have them rehearse and perform with the choir.

‘‘Having these gifted professional musicians involved really raises the bar in terms of what I believe the choir can achieve with this concert.’’

As well as singing with the choir, Cameron Lancaster will also host the evening as MC.

‘‘Folk music of any kind is all about the story and we are hoping to give people a deeper insight into some of this material by providing some background or context before they listen,’’ Cameron said.

Pre-sale tickets are $20 or $15 for members at www.trybooking.com/PJBD
