A GROUP of drunken louts had to be moved on from McDonald’s in Echuca after a fight broke out on the weekend.

Police were called about 4am Sunday after security told a group of people to leave the store who then began fighting in the carpark.

‘‘Security asked several people to leave after they were throwing rubbish and food around,’’ Sergeant Liam Maher of Echuca police said.

‘‘They congregated outside and two men started punching and a third came in to stick up for his mate.

‘‘We were coming into the carpark while this was happening and spoke to them. However, no-one wanted to make a complaint so we got their details and moved them on.’’

Two of the men were aged in their 20s while the other was 18.

‘‘There were no injuries apart from a ripped shirt and lost pride,’’ Sgt Maher said.

‘‘It could have escalated quite quickly but everyone walked away so it was a good end result.’’

Sgt Maher said he was pleased with the overall behaviour of revellers over the Easter weekend.

‘‘Saturday night was busy numbers wise but not trouble wise. There were no licensed premises related incidents, it was mainly domestic stuff,’’ he said.

‘‘It was better than I thought it would be.’’
