ISAIAH Firebrace has missed out on the Eurovision crown despite a note-perfect performance.
The 17-year-old from Moama (pictured on stage in Kiev) came ninth after performing the ballad Don’t Come Easy in the grand final yesterday at the song contest in Ukraine.
Portugal won the global competition.
Isaiah was in fourth place after the jury vote but dropped to ninth after the viewer notes were collated.
Some blamed a streaker who took to the stage draped in an Australian flag and dropped his pants during a performance by Ukraine’s 2016 Eurovision winner, Jamala, for Isaiah’s slip in the votes.
Last week Isaiah was voted through semi-final one impressing the audience and juries of each country despite a vocal hiccup. He is the first Aboriginal male to represent Australia at Eurovision.
Last year Isaiah claimed the X Factor title. He was the third Australian entry into the Eurovision competition, following on from fellow X Factor winner Dami Im, who finished second last year.
