IT WILL be a special family occasion when St Mary’s Parish comes together for its monthly Mass this Sunday.
The Mass has been timed to coincide with National Families Week — Australia’s annual celebration of families — and the Parish is inviting the broader community to join the festivities.
Pastoral associate Christine Sebire said it was a chance for residents to ponder and ‘‘give thanks’’ to their families.
‘‘We invite any families who would like to celebrate the richness of their families and the gifts their families are,’’ she said.
Ms Sebire said it was also an opportunity for the Parish to take a public stance against family violence.
As part of the occasion, everyone is asked to bring a family photo so St Mary’s can create a large family photo album.
Patrons are also asked to bring some finger food that can be shared with others in celebration of Families Week.
The Come and See Family Week Mass is on Sunday at 5pm at St Mary’s Primary School’s auditorium.
Family photos can be brought along on the day, or be sent to [email protected] or posted to the ‘St Mary’s Parish Echuca’ Facebook page.
