LOCAL food and wine will be celebrated this weekend at the third annual Flavours of Echuca-Moama Festival.
The festival has become a must-do on the local calendar culminating with the Grazing Festival on Sunday at Morrison’s Winery.
Organiser Trent Eacott (pictured) is expecting this year’s event to continue building on its success following the launch in 2015 and selling out last year.
‘‘There will be local wine growers and food businesses which will feature their local produce,’’ he said.
‘‘It really is about celebrating all things in the Murray and Campaspe shires and is a different way to showcase our region.
‘‘Whether you come for a few hours or the whole day, it promises to be a fun day out for the whole family.’’
Mr Eacott said the festival was the only one of its kind in the country which featured all there was to love about Echuca-Moama.
‘‘We offer a unique way to access the festival through the paddlesteamer rides which take festival-goers from the Port of Echuca right to the winery,’’ he said.
‘‘We are the only festival in the country which features all the aspects of our surrounding, whether that be the river, the paddlesteamers and the local produce. We just try to incorporate everything that’s great in the twin towns.’’
Food producers Pacdon Park and Three Rivers Speciality Meats (lamb) will feature local produce, along with catering businesses Feast Echuca and Two Tarts being joined by the Wandering Gypsy Van.
Pepi’s homemade ice cream, Echuca Farm House Cheese and the Coffee Addiction van will also be on site, along with other stallholders.
Local wineries St Annes, Morrisons, MoFro, Stevens Brook Estate and Cornelia Creek will have bottles flowing throughout the day.
Folk duet Little Georgia and other local artists will entertain the crowd from 11am to 4pm. Morrison’s Winery head chef Troy Jarrett will also host cooking demonstrations, along with Pacdon Park.
There will be plenty to keep the kids amused with face painting and playground activities.
‘‘We have so much to offer in the Echuca-Moama region when it comes to food and boutique wines and this festival is about celebrating that,’’ Mr Eacott said.
‘‘We have a great schedule, a magnificent setting by the river and it just keeps getting better and better each year.’’
