NATHALIA residents are encouraged to keep their gardens warm this winter with free mulch from Moira Shire’s Cobram and Numurkah transfer stations.

NATHALIA residents are encouraged to keep their gardens warm this winter with free mulch from Moira Shire’s Cobram and Numurkah transfer stations.

Moira Shire mayor Gary Cleveland said the mulch had been processed from green waste deposited at the transfer stations.

‘‘Mulch can insulate your garden during winter and also reduces the amount of waste we have to deal with at our transfer stations,’’ Cr Cleveland said.

‘‘The mulch is free and we will even load it into your trailer or ute for you, but it is important to assess whether the quality of the mulch is suitable for your garden.’’

Commercial size loads are also available on the day or by appointment.

Mulch is available on Sunday from 10am to 3pm at Cobram and next Sunday from 9am to 4pm.
