Michael Dee spurs Snowy Black onto second place during the Bourke Builders Plate on New Year's Eve.

The Echuca Cup is the highlight of the local racing calendar and is a full-on day of food, entertainment and some of the best horse racing in regional Victoria

It may not be the race that stops the nation but it certainly stops Echuca.

The Echuca Cup will be held Sunday May 28 and as usual, will attract a large crowd for the fun filled day, featuring great racing and family entertainment.

The drawcard of the day – the $80,000 Moama Bowling Club Echuca Cup will again attract a strong field. Last year’s cup winner Leveraction was trained by Echuca’s Darryl Archard, who went on to be crowned Horse of the Year by Country Racing Victoria.

While the focus of the day is on racing, there is always plenty of activities to keep the kids amused, live music and big screen TV. Fashion will also feature on the agenda for patrons.

Whether you choose to watch the day from the covered area of the pavilion, one of the many enclosures or on the lawn area, one thing is assured you will witness a great day of country racing.

A wide range of catering options are available from snack bar through to dining room and shuttle buses will operate to and from the course.
