AN ECHUCA teen has been fined $300 after getting behind the wheel of a car being towed.
Dylan Riddle, 19, faced Echuca Magistrates Court to plead guilty to driving while unlicensed.
Police prosecutor Senior Constable Martin Friend said Riddle was driving the towed car along Ogilvie Ave until the tow rope snapped.
Riddle, who has never held a licence, made full admissions to police and said he was helping a friend. In court, he said he did not usually drive and the incident was a ‘‘one-off thing’’.
Magistrate Patrick Southey said ‘‘if you are caught driving unlicensed again, I will throw the book at you’’.
