The annual Echuca Autumn Luncheon is back, raising vital funds for Echuca Regional Health’s oncology ward.
It’s the third year the luncheon has run, with $17,000 raised last year for ERH.
‘‘Echuca-Moama business houses are just wonderful,’’ organiser and ERH volunteer Theresa Jacobs said.
‘‘They never refuse us and offer great support.
‘‘Anyone wishing to make a donation would be greatly appreciated on the day.’’
Theresa and fellow stalwart Lucille George have been running fundraising events for ERH for more than 20 years — first biggest morning teas and more recently, the popular luncheons.
But they’re now looking to pass the baton to a younger group.
‘‘Lucille and I have struggled with ill health and this year we were hoping we might get a younger group to take over organising,’’ she said.
‘‘We haven’t been successful yet but will announce at this luncheon that we’re looking for help.’’
This year’s event is set to feature bigger and better prizes than ever.
In addition to a spread of dreamy accommodation prizes, local identity Clayton Oliver’s Melbourne football jumper (signed by the Melbourne team) will also be up for grabs.
The Echuca Autumn Luncheon will be on Friday, May 10 from 12pm at Echuca Hotel.
Tickets are available at $25 each from Theresa Jacobs on 5482 2765 or Lucille George on 0439 363 672.
Tickets are selling fast, so don’t miss out.
