A BAIL jumper accused of kicking his pregnant girlfriend in the stomach has been arrested in Echuca after six months on the run.

A BAIL jumper accused of kicking his pregnant girlfriend in the stomach has been arrested in Echuca after six months on the run.

Police arrested Nicholas Casey, 23, at a house in Garden Crescent about 11pm Saturday.

Casey is charged with several counts of contravening a family violence intervention order, intentionally causing injury and recklessly causing injury. He has been further charged with failing to appear on bail and criminal damage.

Nine arrest warrants were issued for the former Echuca man in December after he failed to appear at Echuca Magistrates Court.

Despite police opposition because of allegations of further violent offending while on bail and having seven pages of criminal history, including multiple breaches of a family violence intervention order, unlawful assault, assault by kicking, theft, burglary and criminal damage, he was granted bail in June last year.

Casey has been remanded in custody to appear at Broadmeadows Magistrates Court on July 28.
