FOR Phillip Rosenow, the man on a mission to travel Australia to raise awareness for organ transplants, “it’s all downhill from here’’.
The Echuca man riding across Australia has left the Northern Territory, where The Riv last caught up with him, to reach Australia’s most northern point.
Completing more than 10,000km of his 16,000km journey, Phil has travelled from the most southerly part of Australia to the most northerly point via the centre and is homeward bound.
Phil spent his birthday in Weipa with previous Echuca locals getting his bike serviced for the trek home.
It was a special date for the well-worn traveller, just as it was on his birthday 11 years ago, when he received a kidney transplant — the lifesaving gift which prompted his epic journey.
Using his Facebook page Be a Hero, DonateLife Motorbike Ride to provide updates, Phil has sections planned to be ride along areas in Brisbane, Sydney and Canberra, so biking enthusiasts can share in his journey.
