NATHALIA businesses and event organisers are encouraged to attend an information session to ensure they understand the changes to smoke-free dining.

NATHALIA businesses and event organisers are encouraged to attend an information session to ensure they understand the changes to smoke-free dining.

Moira Shire general manager infrastructure Andrew Close said from August 1, smoking would be off the menu in outdoor dining areas when food was available.

‘‘Smoking will also be banned in all outdoor areas at food fairs and within 10m of a food stall or food vendor at an organised outdoor event.’’

Council staff will host a session at 7pm on July 24 at Nathalia Community Centre to help business owners and the community understand the changes and what they mean for them.

‘‘From August 1, we will be required to enforce the new regulations so we are keen to help business understand and prepare before the start date,’’ Mr Close said.

Information about the Victoria-wide changes is also available online at www.health.vic.gov.au/tobaccoreforms
