EMERGENCY services are responding to an apparent oil spill in the Port of Echuca.

More than a dozen CFA members, NSW Maritime Services and the Environment Protection Authority descended on Riverboat Dock after 11am to contain the spill.

Streaks were visible along the Victorian banks of the river, near where the MV Mary Ann and Billy T are docked.

A witness told the Riverine Herald he saw oil spilling from a drain before crews arrived.

Workers, including the EPA, were also attending a drain outside the Henry's Bridge Hotel.

More to come.
