THE trial of Ricegrowers Limited has been listed to start in November following the death of a contractor at an Echuca mill in 2014.
The company, trading as SunRice, appeared in Bendigo County Court on Tuesday charged with failing to provide a safe working environment for employees and failing to provide or maintain a plant that was safe and without risks to health.
The trial has been listed for November 24 at Melbourne County Court.
WorkSafe Victoria launched court action in 2015 after an investigation of the accident which killed fitter and turner Chris McCann.
The Tongala man was doing maintenance work alone inside a mixing plant at the CopRice Mill but was later found dead inside a bin.
