TWO CHARGED AFTER TASKFORCE ECHO WARRANTS

UPDATE:

Task Force Echo detectives have charged two people following the execution of multiple warrants earlier today.

Detectives executed search warrants at about 8am in Melbourne, Shepparton and Echuca, resulting in the seizure of drugs and weapons.

Two firearms, ammunition, drugs and weapons including knives and a baton were seized as part of the warrants.

A 29-year-old Shepparton man was charged with trafficking a commercial quantity of a drug of dependence, possess drug of dependence, prohibited person possess firearm and other offences.

He faced the Melbourne Magistrates’ court this evening and was remanded to appear again on Monday.

A 32-year-old Echuca man was charged with traffick drug of dependence, possess drug of dependence and possess proceeds of crime.

He faced an out of sessions hearing and has been remanded to appear at Bendigo Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

A 34-year-old Echuca woman was arrested, interviewed and released pending further enquires.

EARLIER:

Detectives executed search warrants at about 8am in Melbourne, Shepparton and Echuca, resulting in the seizure of drugs and weapons.

Two firearms, ammunition, drugs and weapons including knives and a baton were seized as part of the warrants.

A 29-year-old Shepparton man, a 32-year-old Echuca man and 34-year-old Echuca woman, all with OMCG links were arrested and are currently assisting police with their enquiries.

The community can be assured and confident that Victoria Police will continue its strong focus on any criminal activities associated with Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs and any other groups and their criminal activities impacting regional areas.
