TENS of thousands of dollars’ worth of stolen property has been uncovered in a raid at Stanhope this morning.
Echuca detectives and Kyabram police swooped on the Hill Rd property about 8.55am, where they seized six vehicles, three trailers, as well as firearms, tools and equipment.
Acting Senior Sergeant Brendan Randoe of Kyabram police said a 49-year-old Stanhope man had been interviewed and released pending inquiries and other people of interest were being sought.
Snr Sgt Randoe said he expected charges to be laid.
‘‘In relation to handling stolen goods, theft and burglary. A lot of property we’ve identified already from burglaries,’’ he said.
The property is believed to have been stolen from around the district including Echuca, Kyabram and Shepparton.
