AN ECHUCA woman who didn’t know she was unlicensed has been given a five month undertaking.

AN ECHUCA woman who didn’t know she was unlicensed has been given a five month undertaking.

Rebecca Mcgee, 32, appeared in Echuca Magistrates Court on Tuesday to plead guilty to unlicensed driving.

Police prosecutor Senior Constable Rachael Hitchins told the court Mcgee was intercepted on High St, Heathcote on December 31, 2016.

‘‘Checks revealed the accused had been suspended due to a loss of demerit points but didn’t know she was suspended.’’

Defence lawyer Majella Foster-Jones said her client believes her partner helped with the loss of demerit points.

‘‘The motor vehicle is also used by her partner who may have lost demerit points,’’ she said.

‘‘She understands that she needs to respect the licence she has.’’

Magistrate Michael King placed Mcgee on a good behaviour undertaking until March and ordered her to pay $100 into the court fund.
