THE 2017 Basketball Victoria Country under 12 Jamboree was held at the Echuca Basketball Stadium over the weekend, gathering 240 young athletes to participate in a tournament to showcase their skills in front of a large crowd of spectators.
‘‘Each year it is evident that local associations are working at developing their athletes’’, Basketball Victoria Country (BVC) participation co-ordinator Craig Hockey said.
‘‘It is a challenge for our coaches to select just 240 for the BVC Echuca Jamboree.’’
Echuca was lucky enough to have five outstanding young individuals representing the town — Riley Hutton, Lewis Stubbs, Jobe Shanahan, Alexis Gregor and Sienna Quinlan.
As well as 240 athletes (120 male and 120 female), there were 18 referees, 24 coaches and 24 other staff members on hand to help make the Jamboree run smoothly.
