Season opens in fine style

October 02, 2017

ON A beautiful spring day, Echuca Swim Club hosted its first swim meet for the season at EWMAC last Sunday.

With swimmers from all over regional Victoria, the meet was a huge success thanks to the hard-working committee, parents and a great bunch of kids.

The new dolphin timing system was used for the first time which was extremely easy to operate helping to make the day run smoothly and efficiently.

Echuca swimmers dominated with 31 members competing and receiving some excellent results.

For most it was their first competition for the 2017/2018 season and unbelievably they all received personal best (PB) times for at least one event.

Brandon Batey, Tahlia O’Neill and Kynan Batey all stood out swimming personal best times in every event.

Well done to our new swimmers Ruby Morgan, Milly Morley, Ayla Wise, Patrick Kennedy and Lucy Kennedy who all made the club proud swimming extremely well.

A special mention to our superstar swimmer Lara Judd who received five gold medals and two PB’s for the day and Nash Ramage who achieved four golds, one bronze and two PB’s.
