THE Campaspe Shire is still waiting for $1.5 million to fix the retaining wall next to the former Oscar W’s site.

THE failing Murray Esplanade retaining wall will be reconstructed.

THE Campaspe Shire is still waiting for $1.5 million to fix the retaining wall next to the former Oscar W’s site.

The money is from the national disaster financial assistance fund but council has been waiting for months.

The building, owned by council, is prime real estate in the Port of Echuca and has been sitting as a wasted shell for more than three years.

The issue has been the major delay for the launch of Jarman’s Portside Echuca.

Campaspe Shire chief executive Jason Russell told the Riv in August it was hoped to have a tendor for retaining wall works awarded by Christmas.
