Classy touch of classical coming to the GRAIN Store

WORLD class classical music will come to Nathalia when The G.R.A.I.N. Store presents the internationally acclaimed Waratah String Quartet from Orchestra Victoria on Sunday 15 October.

Project producer Ken Wong said The G.R.A.I.N. Store was thrilled to be able to bring this exciting concert to Nathalia.

He hopes people across the region would take advantage of this rare opportunity to see and hear these world class musicians.

“Through a fortunate set of circumstances we had the Waratah Quartet perform for us last year, but since then they have become even more highly sought after, so we are very lucky to be welcoming them back”, he said.

“One of the great things they do within their concert is talk about the life of each composer and the circumstances surrounding the composition of the pieces they are presenting.

‘‘Their program this year will include works by Haydn, Dvorak and Shostakovich”.

Formed in 2015, the Waratah quartet is made up of world class players from Orchestra Victoria including their Principal and Associate Principal first violinists, Yi Wang and Tomomi Brennan, Principal Cellist, Mellissa Chominsky and Tutti Viola player Jason Bunn.

They have appeared at the Melbourne International Festival and later this year have been invited to perform at the Beijing Conservatory Chamber Music Festival in China.

The concert is part of The G.R.A.I.N. Store’s spring performance program, which has been funded by the Victorian Government through Creative Victoria.

The concert will be followed by a Masterclass for local musicians.
