PEOPLE will have the chance to cruise down memory lane (and the Murray) on the PS Philadelphia next week to celebrate 34 years of All The Rivers Run.
Echuca Paddlesteamers is running the event, which will see the PS Pevensey renamed the PS Philadelphia for two cruises to Perricoota Station on October 13 and 14.
‘‘The boat will be renamed with the original boards and lifeboats from the mini-series, so it’s all very authentic,’’ Echuca Paddlesteamers co-ordinator Kerry Howlett said.
‘‘We are encouraging people to come dressed as their favourite characters and the staff will all be in period costume.’’
Ms Howlett said it would be a milestone event as the paddlesteamer had not travelled that particular route for about 20 years.
‘‘The skipper will be pointing out all the different locations where the filming happened,’’ she said.
Ms Howlett said she had hoped the stars of the mini-series — John Waters and Sigrid Thornton who played Brenton Edwards and Philadelphia Gordon respectively — would be able to make an appearance.
‘‘John has told us he can’t, but we’re waiting to hear back from Sigrid,’’ she said.
‘‘However, John saw one of our Instagram posts about the event and he was very excited about it.’’
Two packages are available and include cruise, lunch, homestead tour and morning/high tea. To book call Echuca Paddlesteamers on 54812832.
