ECHUCA Regional Health is again in the running for a statewide healthcare award.
It is a finalist in the Premier’s medium health service of the year in the Victorian Public Healthcare Awards, vying against East Grampians Health Service and Benalla Health.
ERH chief executive Michael Delahunty said he was delighted to be shortlisted for this award which 24 Victorian health services were eligible to receive.
‘‘It is recognition of the dedicated efforts of our clinicians and staff to provide safe, high quality services at a time when demand on our health service continues to grow,’’ he said.
‘‘It is also recognition of the efforts of the Echuca-Moama communities and the board of ERH in having the Echuca hospital redeveloped during the past six years.’’
ERH was a finalist in the same category last year, which was won by East Grampians Health Service.
‘‘It is hoped that on this occasion we can go one better and win this prestigious award,’’ Mr Delahunty said.
‘‘Should we win, this award would be positive reinforcement to our staff and community that we have a high quality health service that has been publicly acknowledged by the State Government.’’
This year’s winners will be announced in Melbourne on October 26.
