THE Seniors Festival Expo is being held on Tuesday at the Kerang Memorial Hall from 11am-3pm.
Mayor Brian Gibson is opening the event, which celebrates the contribution older people make to the community.
“This free event gives seniors the opportunity to meet with health and aged care providers, community groups, leisure and lifestyle services,” Cr Gibson said.
There will be live entertainment by the Young at Heart singers, a Pro Rock dance class, sweet treats demonstrations, along with cooking, knitting and craft competitions — as well as free showbags for the first 100 entrants.
A barbecue lunch by the Lions Club will be available between 12pm and 1pm by gold coin donation.
Free buses will be available from Leitchville, Cohuna, Koondrook, Murrabit, Lake Charm, Quambatook and Lalbert.
Please call council customer service on 5450 9333 to book your seat.
A full list of siteholders and event times can be found on the Gannawarra Shire Council website under events.
The Seniors Festival Expo is part of the 2017 Victorian Seniors Festival which runs during October.
“I encourage Gannawarra seniors to get a copy of the festival flyer and see the amazing range of events and activities on offer,’’ Cr Gibson said.
‘‘Don’t forget, public transport is free for Seniors Card holders from October 8-15,’’ he said.
