THIS week’s pennant teams both played off in nailbiting contests.

EM Green played off in Euroa, against an Euroa side who have been playing some tough croquet, leaving Green with their work cut out to take away the win.

In a great contest for both sides, Green took the win in a six games all result, taking 71 hoops to Euroa’s 67 hoops. The best player on the day was Mavis Peters, who claimed three wins from four games.

EM White travelled to the nearby Rich River, where the previous contest had resulted in a draw.

After the eight singles were played, EM White held a commanding six game to two lead.

But Rich River mounted an incredible comeback in the doubles, claiming all four games to deadlock the scores at six all.

On a hoops tally, EM Green claimed the result by the slimmest of margins, winning 69 to 68 in an incredibly competitive, but above all friendly match.

Club day saw nine players playing off in triples, doubles and singles contests.

The winner of the day was Trevor Peters, with three wins, who would claim the Lets Do Coffee voucher for his performance.

Five other players were tied on two wins, with Jan Tracy eventually declared the runner up.

In this weeks pennant game on Friday, the club is divided, as EM Green take on EM White, with an enjoyable, if not slightly competitive, match expected.
