SOFIE Laguna can’t wait to arrive in Echuca tomorrow to talk about her latest book The Choke.
The award-winning author’s latest novel is set in the area with the Murray River providing a sanctuary for the protagonist.
‘‘The Murray plays a critical role in the story,’’ Sofie said.
Since its release, Sofie’s had an ‘‘overwhelming’’ response from her readers.
In her own words, she ‘‘immersed’’ herself in the region when she wrote the novel.
People can hear all about it when she visits Echuca’s library from 2pm.
Sofie was also involved with the international women’s event with Rosalie Ham at the library.
She has written about 20 children books and three adult novels. She won the Miles Franklin Literary Award in 2015 for her adult novel, The Eye of the Sheep.
