Three Moama businesses targeted
A CRIME spree across Moama has seen three businesses targeted overnight Friday.
Offenders have attempted to break into Chaddy’s Chickens and Moama Wash House in Meninya St without success, causing damage to both back doors.
They managed to break into the neighbouring River Thai restaurant, but because no valuables were kept on the premises, nothing was stolen.
There was damage to the back door, which will need to be repaired.
Anyone with information about these incidents is urged to contact Moama police on 54820099 or Crime Stoppers on 1800333000.
TWO people who didn’t appear for their court cases have been sentenced anyway.
And both were charged with drug driving.
Kyabram’s Justin Bergman, 27 and Echuca’s Joanne Taylor, 36 both failed to appear in the Echuca Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
The matters were both heard in an ex parte hearing where Magistrate John Murphy sentenced them in their absence.
The summaries were not read out in court.
Mr Murphy convicted Bergman, fined him $500 and cancelled and disqualified his license for three months.
Taylor was also convicted, fined $1000 and had her license cancelled and disqualified for six months.
