GOULBURN Murray Cricket’s A grade top four will continue to take shape this weekend when Echuca travels to Rochester to take on the Tigers.

Both enter the contest off disappointments — Echuca missed a chance to take full points after its game against Bamawm-Lockington United was abandoned due to rain last weekend while Rochester fell to Tongala in a tight affair.

Echuca has looked the more promising of the two sides, particularly sharp with the ball last weekend having BLU struggling at 6/64 when play was called off.

In other games, Moama will be looking to bounce back from its first loss of the season when it heads across the river to tackle winless Echuca South.

South’s batting has been the problem, its top score in four games last week’s 9/146 against Rochester United.

But bowling will be just as important against what is looking like a fierce Moama batting lineup which has delivered brilliantly in the first month of play.

Moama stands out as a contender for top spot but can’t afford to drop points if it’s to keep pace with United, undefeated in four games.

Meanwhile Tongala has a good chance to make it three wins in a row when it hosts BLU.

BLU hasn’t won in season 2017/18 and will need to fight to hold out the Tongala side on a roll after two impressive wins.

In the final games of the round, Rochester United will host Stanhope while Kyabram Fire Brigade will take on Cooma.
