THE big day has arrived — Hare St is officially closed to traffic, transformed into a shopping mall for the Echuca Moama Cup Carnival.
Traders are preparing for one of their biggest days on the calendar with bargain stalls, pop-up food stalls and children’s entertainment including a jumping castle, camel rides and other activities.
It’s a great day to be a bargain hunter with heaps of stores slashing prices to unprecedented levels.
And the timing couldn’t be better. Why rush around days before Christmas when you can save heaps of time and money right here in town?
Echuca-Moama Business Traders Association president Daniel Mackrell said it was fantastic to see strong support from local business.
“We think this year will be a real attraction for everybody. There will be something for everyone at this year’s carnival,” he said.
Mr Mackrell encouraged as many people as possible to get involved in the festivities.
“The more the merrier in the street. There will be plenty of great, great products and it’s really good to help promote what is on offer in the region,” he said.
“With such a great committee working behind the scenes it is wonderful to see this all come together.
It’s part of our wider strategy and I’m excited in the new direction that EMBTA is heading.’’
