ECHUCA paramedics put smiles on Echuca Specialist School students faces last Monday.

Not only did the Echuca Ambulance Service donate $490 to the school, it let the students have a look inside three of its ambulances and test out its equipment.

Ambulance Victoria Echuca acting senior team manager Joanne Kerr said the donation came after Ambulance Victoria’s conference in Echuca in September.

‘‘Every function has a Welcome to Country and (Wolithica man) Rick Ronan did it for us in return for a donation to go to the specialist school,’’ Mrs Kerr said.

Echuca Specialist School principal Paul Marshall thanked the organisation for its generous donation which he said would go towards buying new sports equipment.

Mrs Kerr said Monday was also a good opportunity to show the students the inside of an ambulance and how the equipment worked.

‘‘We go to a few schools for show and tells as it teaches the kids not to be fearful of us as it can be traumatic if they ever have to be in one,’’ she said.
