A TOUCH football tournament will highlight this weekend’s Three Rivers Festival in Moama.
Held on Yorta Yorta country, Brick Alley Oval at the Moama Recreation Reserve will be the scene of all the action, as teams from around the area compete.
And the tournament, held all day on Saturday and Sunday, is just a small part of the festival celebrating Aboriginal culture.
The theme for the fourth annual festival is ‘I stand strong for health and culture’, with music and art a big part of the celebrations.
Saturday night from 5pm to 8.30pm will see a concert and night markets at the Botanic Gardens Moama.
The inaugural Dhungalla Kaiella Garradha (Goulburn Murray Rivers Dance Ceremony) will celebrate traditional Yorta Yorta stories and ancient ceremonial practices, while the night will also feature Indigenous hip hop projects, an African gospel choir and Pacific Islander dance groups among other cultural entertainment.
