A MAN who was caught drunk driving on August 4 has been fined $1300 and is banned from using the road for a minimum of 24 months.
Brett A’Beckett, pleaded guilty to driving while under the influence of alcohol in the Echuca Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
Police prosecutor Senior Constable Sally Mannell said the car was pulled over by police for routine checks at 3:30am.
“Police officers formed the opinion that alcohol was present on his breath and he was accompanied back to the police station for an evidentiary breath test.”
“The result was a blood concentration of .126.
“He admitted to police that he had consumed three cans of mid-strength beer.”
A’Beckett was deeply apologetic for his actions and claimed it to be a matter of misjudgment.
Magistrate Bruce Cottrill accepted his remorse.
Mr Cottrill cancelled A’Beckett’s licence for 24 months and fined him $1300.
