Motorcycle collides with car in Moama

POLICE are appealing for information into a two-vehicle collision in Moama on Monday night.

Deniliquin Local Area Command officers were patrolling Meninya St when they were stopped by a member of the public about a fallen tree about 9.50pm.

Police then saw a motorcyclist allegedly speeding and activated their lights to stop the motorcycle.

However, police did not continue to follow the motorcycle as it accelerated away.

The motorcycle then collided with a car at the intersection of Echuca and Meninya streets a short time later.

The rider, a 21-year-old man, was taken to Echuca hospital in a stable condition before being transferred to the Royal Melbourne Hospital.

His injuries are unknown.

No-one in the car was injured.

The circumstances surrounding the crash are under investigation.
