CROSSENVALE Community House is on the lookout for volunteers.

CROSSENVALE Community House is on the lookout for volunteers.

Co-ordinator Sheridan Clark said she hoped to provide some programs at the Redgum Centre in Sutton St to the more than 55 public tenants.

‘‘We hope to find volunteers for one to two days a week for a few hours to provide this support,’’ she said. ‘‘Also we are needing at least two volunteers to help out on a Tuesday and two volunteers to open and run the house on a Wednesday. They will need admin skills.’’

Crossenvale also held its annual general meeting recently, attended by 16 people.

Office bearers were re-elected, including Daniel Mackrell as chairperson, Kristen Munro as vice-chairperson, Jeanette Ross as treasurer and Debra Jones as secretary.

‘‘We hope to work on our strategic plan for the Neighbourhood House and providing resources and programs that meet the needs to this community/area,’’ Ms Clark said.

‘‘The house has been quiet with very low attendance from the community but we hope this will change soon.’’

The house is in the process of having the children’s garden built so it can resume playgroup sessions and will be hosting yoga sessions on Mondays and Thursdays from 10-11am.
