THE festive season is looking a whole lot brighter for Koori families across the region with the Christmas Tree event on Saturday, December 16.
The fun-filled day at Echuca East Oval will include a jumping castle, velcro wall, nerf wars, soccer, darts, Connect Four, a bean bag toss and a barbecue lunch.
Activities will start at 11am with Santa arriving to hand out presents from 2.30pm.
Limelight has teamed up with Njernda Aboriginal Corporation to hand out gifts to the children.
Limelight manager and new father Blair Stonehouse said any opportunity to give back was worthwhile.
‘‘We’ve just had a baby and so the importance of community starts to hit home,’’ he said.
‘‘We did the Njernda group website at the start of the year where we heard about the Christmas Tree event and thought it was a good opportunity to give back.
‘‘We try to do a lot throughout the community.
‘‘If Limelight can do something to help out along the way, then that’s great.’’
Along with generous support from Toy World Echuca, Limelight has bought gifts for all the girls under five and all boys under 12 while their clients at Case Tractors have donated gumboots and other gifts.
The eMarketing boutique will also donate its limo for the gifts to be delivered and for some lucky kids to go Christmas light looking.
Parents must put their children’s names down by the end of today at Medical Reception or Berrimba child care.
