RICH River association croquet section two pennant team finished in first place on the ladder, proving they deserved that place by winning the grand final against Nagambie, 34 hoops to 20.

Well done to all who played in the team during the season, and special congratulations to the final players, Bev Somerville, Gillian Brinsmead and Lyn Norwood.

Rich River hosted the section one pennant grand final, in which Shepparton defeated Mooroopna two games to one.

The golf croquet pennant team also played well throughout the season, finishing third and winning the elimination final against Numurkah Blue.

Unfortunately they lost to Deniliquin Diamonds in the preliminary final on Monday, five games to seven, 65 hoops to 71.

Another very close game in a season of close games.

Again thanks go to players who filled in during the season, and congratulations to Anne Dodd, Helen Brierley, Ian Grant and Russell Smyth on a well fought prelim final.

In club play on Thursday, November 30 Jim Gunn took out the win, with Marg Napier the runner-up.

On Tuesday, December 5 the winner from the field of 17 was Ian Grant, and Jay Grant was the runner-up.

Kaye Joyce scored a hoop in one.

Club members enjoyed the annual Christmas party in the Tatalia Room at Rich River on Monday.

It was a fun night with an excellent meal organised by hostess Helen Brierley, Aussie Christmas carols arranged by Maureen Garden, and a hilarious rendition of The Twelve Days of Christmas arranged by Marg Kennedy and starring Marg, Helen, Maureen, Bev Floyd and a number of chickens.
