PLAY, solve, participate and read.
That is the aim of the Gannawarra Library Service’s summer reading club, which the shire said was on again across all of its branches these holidays.
Gannawarra Shire mayor Brian Gibson said the free program was aimed at primary school children and encourages students to maintain their reading levels over the long summer break.
“The Summer Reading Club encourages children to engage, connect, inform and inspires a love of recreational reading,’’ he said.
There are incentives along the way and gift vouchers from Kerang Sports and toys up for grabs.
The four kids that read the most books from the Cohuna, Kerang, Leitchville and Quambatook branches will win a $50 voucher each, plus three readers drawn randomly will win vouchers worth $75.
“Join the game on team for free and be in the running for some great prizes,’’ Cr Gibson said.
‘‘The more you read, the more chances to win.’’
