MURRAY River Council is calling for youth services and community organisations to apply for funding towards an event, activity or project that will be held during National Youth Week this year.
Youth week is between Friday, April 13 and Sunday, April 22.
Mayor Chris Bilkey said council was seeking innovative projects which provided an opportunity for young people aged 12 to 25 to express their ideas and views at a local level.
“We’re interested in receiving expressions of interest for any projects giving local young people the opportunity to express their ideas, raise issues that are important to them or events that can bring young people together to highlight their contributions to the community,” Cr Bilkey said.
Interested organisations and businesses are invited to apply for up to $750 in project funding to host a local event or undertake a youth project during this period.
Applications close on Friday, February 2.
“I encourage young people and community groups to submit their applications and share their ideas so we can continue to grow and support youth opportunities in our local area,” Cr Bilkey said.
