Report of boy being approached

POLICE have reported on Friday afternoon a 10-year-old boy was approached by a man driving a van and offered a ride.

They said about 3.05pm the schoolboy was walking home from school along Francis St in Moama.

‘‘When he was near the intersection of Echuca St, a black van stopped and the driver asked the child if he wanted a lift home,’’ a police spokesman said.

‘‘The child declined and ran the remainder of the way home and was not further interfered with,’’ he said.

‘‘The van was described as old and black in colour, dirty with dents and scratches.

‘‘The male driver was described as 40 to 50 years old, dirty and scruffy looking with missing teeth and other teeth which were brown.
