Southern 80 timetable

The Southern 80 begins officially in Echuca-Moama today.

Today

7am to 9am: Breakfast With The Stars at Kerrabee Sound Shell, Moama.

11am to 5pm: Paperwork Collection at MWSC Office, 54 Mundarra Rd, Echuca.

Tomorrow

8am: Gates open at Victoria Park.

9am: Racing starts at 5 Mile boat ramp to Vic Park, starting with unlimited inboard social through to U/10 Tadpoles.

9am to 1pm: Total Tools static display in Hare St, between Anstruther and Darling streets.

2pm: First boat away in the Bakers Blitz and the President’s Dash will determine their starting position for Sunday racing, followed by veterans and senior social.

The finish line will feature a big screen with live vision from the start line, Southern 80 merchandise, free jumping castle, face painting, airbrush tattoos and water slide.

Trade sites will include static display by the Victorian Outboard Club, the newest F Trucks, a model boat display, displays from Parks Victoria, NSW Maritime and Royal Life Saving Victoria.

An array of food and beverages, music by Three’s a Crowd from the end of racing until presentation.

5.30pm: Presentation at Victoria Park.

Sunday

8am: Gates open.

8.30am-10am: Racing starts from Torrumbarry Weir.

The first of Sunday’s races along the 80km course begin with the super social class kicking off the day followed by all expert engine classes.

12.30pm: First superclass boat away. This year’s superclass will feature the best of the best with seven teams entered and is left wide open for any one of them to take out the race to be crowned the best of the best.

5.30pm: Presentations.
