THE Southern 80 is all about the coming together of people from all corners of the country to compete for skiing glory.

THE Southern 80 is all about the coming together of people from all corners of the country to compete for skiing glory.

So it is fitting then, that the crew of Pumped Up is exactly that — an amalgamation of people from all over Australia.

The boat itself is from Sydney, while driver Brad Collins is from Berowra in northern Sydney, observer Jacinta Harris hails from Wallan, Victoria, and skiers Kye Fraser and Jess Spencer are from Orange, and Griffith, in new South Wales respectively.

Finishing a close fourth place in the Social class on Saturday, followed by a fourth in the Unlimited Outboard Expert class on Sunday afternoon, Fraser said he was happy with a good result for the team.

‘‘We got fourth yesterday in social, which we were really happy with and we’re hoping to replicate that today in unlimited,’’ Fraser said.

It’s a pretty tough competition though of course . . . the water is in really good knick and keeps you cool on these hot days, along with a few beverages here and there.’’

The crew said the Southern 80 is a ‘‘definite highlight’’ of their year’s racing.
