SKI racing is a sport for all ages.
Despite the perceived dangers of the sport, it attracts a number of younger racers to take part.
Some of these competitors are incredibly young.
One of the youngest competitors at the 2018 Southern 80 was Max McCallum.
McCallum, 9, skied behind Heaven Sent F2 in the under 10 boys class.
In his first Southern 80, Max finished eight in his class in a time of 15:57.
Kohdi Cartledge, 10, also took to the course, as did Charlette Davison, though both have taken to the waters before during the Southern 80.
Cartledge, skiing behind Solid Gold, took second in the under 10 boys in a time of 11:22, only 10 seconds off section winner Pumped Up.
In a family affair, Davison skied behind Elm St F2, driven by father Wesley Davison and observed by mother Carlie Davison.
The team finished in 11:45, giving Charlette the overall win in the girls under 10’s section.
