A car hit a traffic lights near KFC yesterday

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a single vehicle crash about 6am yesterday which took out a traffic light in Echuca.

A 19-year-old Gannawarra man was allegedly driving east along Ogilvie Ave when he entered the Ogilvie Ave and High St intersection and collided with a traffic light in the median strip.

Police said the driver tested positive to a road side drug test. Police are awaiting evidentiary results.

The driver sustained no injuries and was the only person in the vehicle.

The damage to the traffic light caused traffic congestion at the intersection and motorists had to detour for hours after the incident.
