THE Echuca Back 9 Golf Course is set to reopen tomorrow under new management of Echuca Neighbourhood House.
Campaspe Shire mayor Adrian Weston said council had been actively working with Echuca Neighbourhood House.
‘‘They have now signed a 12-month licence agreement to take over the management of the golf course,’’ he said.
‘‘We are excited to be working with Echuca Neighbourhood House and look forward to the reopening of the nine-hole golf course.’’
Since closing at the end of January, council has continued to water and mow the site, keeping the course clean and green.
With a small section of the course located on Crown Land, the licence agreement is currently with the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) for final approval.
Echuca Neighbourhood House manager Shandel Keele said they were excited by the opportunity and looking forward to being “open for business”.
“We’re currently seeking corporate sponsorship from local businesses and membership subscriptions from the community to support the ongoing operation of the course,” Ms Keele said.
“It’s imperative to have the ongoing support from the community to ensure the long-term survival of the golf course operations.’’
