A BOOK celebrating the beauty and history of Echuca-Moama will be launched today.
Celebrating Echuca-Moama will be launched at 2pm at the Echuca Visitor and Information Centre by Echuca-Moama Tourism boss Kathryn McKenzie.
The book is the brainchild of the Echuca Historical Society after several years of book sellers asking them when it was coming.
‘‘As we had no immediate ongoing large projects for members, it was a great opportunity for us to research and compile a book to suit,’’ society member Dot Hammond said.
‘‘This new publication has been compiled by several members of the society, some taking photographs, (approx 1000 photographs were sourced for this book), writing captions, designing the layout, deciding which photos told the story of Echuca-Moama and the hardest job of all proof reading it several times.’’
The book will be launched today and the community are invited to attend at 2pm.
Celebrating Echuca-Moama is $20 and can be purchased at Echuca Historical Society museum, Collins Books, Echuca Paddlesteamers, Murray River Paddlesteamers and Port of Echuca Discovery Centre.
