CLEAN Up Australia Day is on Sunday.

The annual event will see the community out in force across our towns picking up rubbish and making the towns a cleaner place.

Businesses were down at Echuca’s Aquatic Reserve on Tuesday for Business Clean Up Day and schools will be out today for the Schools/Youth Clean Up Day.

There are a number of registered Clean Up Australia Day events planned for Sunday.

■Echuca: Banyule Forest, Middle Track from 9am until noon and Victoria Park/Scenic Drive, water fountain from 10am until noon.

■Wharparilla: Emu and Wills Bend, end of Murray Drive from 9am until 11.30am and Mt Terrick Rd, Wharparilla Recreation Reserve from 9am to 1pm.

■Rochester: Corner of Ramsay and Charles Streets from 9am until 11am.

“We encourage all Campaspe residents to take action to help reduce the many tonnes of litter that is choking our land and waterways each year by volunteering for 2018 Clean Up Australia Day,” Campaspe Shire mayor Adrian Weston said.

Registrations are open to join a Clean Up team in 2018, or groups can register their own site.

To register, go to cleanupaustraliaday.org.au or call 1800 282 329.
