WARREN St, Echuca will be closed to traffic from tomorrow to mid-2019 to make way for the second stage of the highly anticipated Echuca-Moama bridge project.

VicRoads will be upgrading Warren St between the Murray Valley Hwy and the Campaspe River bridge.

The closure is expected to help minimise disruptions and speed up the overall project.

A detour will be available via the Murray Valley Hwy, Ogilvie Ave and High St.

Access to Warren St will be maintained for local residents, emergency services, the local denture clinic and the Echuca cemetery.

VicRoads said it aimed to keep impacts to a minimum, including noise and dust.

Stage two includes a new roundabout (west of Campaspe Esplanade); new service roads to make it safer and easier for residents to access Warren St; better access to the Echuca Cemetery by providing turning lanes on Warren St; four new bridges; improved storm water drainage and intersection street lighting; bus stop upgrades; and a new off-road walking and cycling path.
