MORE than $1 million improvement works on the Echuca Deniliquin freight line are on track to be completed today.
The works are set to be completed earlier than the initial timeframe (March 11) which means trains will be running again from tomorrow.
About 30 V/Line staff and contractors have been busy completing the upgrade on tracks and bridges along the line.
They have included replacing the bridge deck in Moama and maintenance work on other bridges along the line.
Crews have also added ballast and completed track welding and repairs to sections of the track.
Some freight services have not run while works were being completed, but V/Line said it planned the works to minimise the disruption to freight trains and communicated with freight operators in advance to ensure they could plan ahead.
